Well it has been 2 weeks since we returned from your beautiful country and I thought that I should drop you a line and thank you for putting together a wonderful trip for us. From the Dead Sea to Petra and then down to Aqaba and how could we forget Wadi Rum. So much history, so much to see. Khalid was very good, even purchasing a cake for my husband's birthday which was very kind. From my family and I know our friends enjoyed it too, a big thank you and a belated Eid Mabarak. Don't be surprised if a few of my friends email you as I am recommending you and the trip to a lot of them. I have advised that the best time would be Easter through to October? as if you want to partake in water activities I think "warmer" is better.

Let me say that I am very pleased with my trip, the arrangements were perfect. A special thanks goes to the driver Mr. Tariq who was very responsible, punctual and a nice person to boot.

I really love Jordan and I will recommend visiting your fine country to my friends, as well as recommending Jordan Direct Tours. The only thing I found annoying in Jordan was the habit of restaurants to add the taxes to the prices of the menu. Particularly in Amman, where the taxes are 26%, the menu is quite misleading when you have to add ¼ to the total price.

Having my great sense of humour I usually ask the restaurants for information, not only about how many per cent they have to pay in taxes, but also the percentage for the rent, raw material, staff and of course their profit for the meal in question!

Of course, there is not much JD Tours can do about this phenomena, other than conveying this criticism when you have a conference with the restaurants.

Other than that, I think Jordan is a perfect holiday destination and I wish you the best of luck!

We returned from holiday on Sunday morning and we are now back at work after Eid. We had an excellent holiday and thank you very much for organising such an interesting itinerary. Thank you particularly for rearranging the itinerary at such short notice.

Our driver, Ibrahem Alsmadi, was excellent and we would be very happy to have him as our driver when we come again (notice I said when, not if). Petra was very interesting but, much to our surprise, it was by no means the best part of the holiday. Wadi Rum and the Kempinski Hotel were both excellent. We saw Petra by day and night on the same day. Both trips were well worthwhile but we would just suggest that you warn people that two walking trips down into the Siq (and especially back again) can be very tiring.

We are thinking ahead to the Ramadan period next year (this seems a quiet period for the hotels) and we are considering a trip based on the Kempinski Ishtar (which really is very good indeed). We saw most of the sights on this holiday but we would like another visit to Wadi Rum, perhaps for longer and including sight of the sunset. We would also need transport to and from Kempinski and to Wadi Rum. We are also open to suggestions for places we haven't seen. Could you give us some ideas for an intinerary and prices based on this information - staying at least a week and then perhaps a price for each extra night?

We really enjoyed our trip there and were grateful to have the expertise of Muhammad, our driver.

He gave us a lot of information about Jordan that was very helpful. We saw many things, but especially enjoyed the archeological sites at Petra, Jerash, and Wadi Rum. Everything was very well organized. We traveled around Jordan quite a bit and decided that the only thing we could have done different was to spend more time in one place, like Amman, where we would have had a chance to see local attractions and interact with Jordanians more.

If we decide to revisit Amman as part of another trip, we’ll definitely contact you. That’s our plan because we started taking some Arabic classes. We might visit either Turkey, Egypt or Syria on a future trip. Could your office recommend a travel agent there we might contact?

That was one of the best holidays we have ever had! This is because of:-

The varied beauty of your country
The hospitality of every person we met
The feeling of safety and lack of threat everywhere
The organisation from Jordan Direct.

Everything worked perfectly. When we needed support Mohammed was there; when we needed time alone we had time alone. Cars arrived on time, hotels bookings were honoured, guides were available as required - absolutely no problems.

I think the decision to start in Madaba was for us a good one. A nice quiet introduction to Jordan rather than the big city of Amman. I know that I suggested hotels to you when I first contacted you - thank you for quietly suggesting other hotels. You were absolutely right in Madaba and the upgrade in Petra was a very pleasant surprise.

What was the best part of the holiday? It got better as we went south. Umm Quais and Jerash were good. Kerak, Mukawir and the countryside around Wadi Mujib, Dana/Wadi Hesa were better. Petra was astounding and Wadi Rum was unbelievable!!!

I know that every country has different attractions but there is so much in Jordan that it deserves more visitors! I will be passing your name on to all my friends and family - I hope you get some more reservations from them.

The hotels you selected were very good (only the Marriott in Petra seemed a little 'tired' but then it caters largely for people who stay there only to visit the sites at Petra, rather than to stay in the hotel for the sake of it).

The driver you allocated to us, Okba, was exceptionally good. His driving and time-keeping were first class and he was very knowledgeable about Jordan and its places of interest.
