Hassan was a great driver, very warm, very willing to share with us insights into Jordanian life and culture, terrific ideas for meals, extrememly helpful – even on his day off he was there for us and made us feel that we were really being looked after!! All the places we visited were spectacular – visiting Petra has always been a dream and adding Jerash, Um Quais, Wadi Rum, Amman, Madaba, Mt. Nebo to our holiday made this an exceptional experience. I hope you are well.We have been back home since Wednesday night and are finally getting back on track.
Let me say first of all say that we had a FABULOUS time.We enjoyed Jordan far morethan Egypt.My only regret is that we didn’t spend more time.
The main reason for the success of the trip is because of our driver,Ahmed.He took very good care of us and kept us thoroughly entertained.He treated us as one of the family.
The highlight of the trip was our overnight in Wadi Rum.The camp was beautiful and secluded. After seeing the accommodations at the rest house I was really happy to not have stayed there. After dinner we walked up a sand dune and laid on the cool sand looking at stars.I have never in my life seen so many and I have been to some remote areas here in the states.
Dana was wonderful also-unfortunately we had spent so much time in Madaba buying a mosaic table (!) that we arrived at Dana just as the sun set. The guesthouse was beautiful! We had a great hike the next day with a guide named Talid who helped me quite a bit in navigating the rocks and was a wealth of information. Next to Ahmed he was our favorite in Jordan, although all the guides were great.
he transfer to Nuweiba went smoothly as did the car ride to Cairo. It was very nice of you to arrange the meeting with the person from the RSCN. We learned a lot about the other reserves and hope to visit them on our next trip.
To the contrary of what I’ve read I felt that Jordan was the better value. We spent far more money than we had intended to in Egypt. We will definitely return. Say hello to Ahmed for us!

We are back home and I wanted to tell you we are very happy with our trip, in Jordan. We discovered a beautiful country and nice welcoming people. The tour was really a great moment. The hotels were fabulous, good value for the money.
We spent 2 full mornings in Petra and enjoyed the site very much.

Hi Rana –
We arrived home VERY early yesterday morning, and I was going to send you an e-mail today, to thank you for arranging such a perfect visit to Jordan for Sam and me.
First and foremost, Kamal was wonderful. He was attentive, knowledgeable, and very accommodating. We had a lot of questions about the history, customs, people, etc. etc. etc., and he seemed interested in answering them. Kamal helped us get through immigration when we arrived from Eilat, and he eased our way through passport control and customs when we left up north. (That was hectic and confusing, so Kamal was an enormous help.) He was a superb driver/guide in whom we had the utmost confidence. I gather he will not be living in Jordan for the most part, so in the long run he will not be available to do for others what he did for us. Too bad. You can pass this on to him, but I will be sending him an e-mail myself.
Everybody we met was warm and welcoming and gracious and friendly. We had some unique experiences, including an interesting encounter with several retired women from Amman who were at Taybet Zaman on a “girls’ outing.” Incidentally, Taybet Zaman is beautiful and charming and, if you have a driver, certainly not a hassle in terms of visiting Petra. Petra, of course, was the most unforgettable of all the sites.
By the way, our visit in Israel was also wonderful, topped off by a fairy-tale wedding on Monday evening that took place at David’s Citadel at the entrance to the old city. It was magical.
You can be sure that we will refer to you any and all friends who are thinking about visiting Jordan. You were terrific! I hope we wil have an opportunity to get back to Jordan ourselves, and certainly to renew our acquaintance with you.

Thank you very much for all of your assistance before our trip, and for organising such a wonderful holiday for us. We had a fantastic time from start to finish.
Kamal, our driver was extremely helpful, letting us feel comfortable at each destination and making sure that we knew what was going on. We especially enjoyed the jeep tour in Wadi Rum and the isolation of the desert, so different from London!
The hotel in Aqaba was also wonderful, allowing us to really relax for a few days before coming home.
I’m very sorry that there seem to be so few visitors to Jordan at the moment, when our security fears were quite so unfounded. I hope that numbers increase soon, we will certainly be telling all of our friends what a great time we had.

First of all we would like to share with you our sincerest gratitude we feel
towards all the Jordanian people we met for their very outspoken hospitality and friendliness that we experienced during our trip in Jordan (3/4/2002 till 11/4/2002).
The natural beauty of Jordan combined with the “warmth” of his population was a unique experience to our family.
As far as the organization of the trip is concerned we can only say that Jordan Direct tours outperformed itself. The trip was perfectly organized, starting with a very warm welcoming upon arriving at the airport (at 3 o’clock in the morning !).
The hotels and restaurants you choose, demonstrate clearly that a combination between local tradition and the comfort needs of spoiled western tourist is perfectly possible in Jordan.
Last but not least we would like to express a very warm “shukran” for Monzer, our driver, who did a outstanding job in making us discover Jordan.
His exceptional knowledge of English and French, his cultural knowledge, his wisdom, his negotiating skills, his kindness, made this trip unforgettable for us.
Driving and guiding tourists is clearly more than a job to him. It is a passion to him to meet new people and make them feel comfortable. Monzer is much more than a driver, he became a friend to us and the children.
I can only add that we will not hesitate to recommend your organization & Monzer to friends & family.
We sincerely hope that peace comes very soon to the Middle East. Your country is so rich in natural beauty and values that we feel it is very unfair that Jordan is suffering under the current circumstances.

Sadly arrived back in England, and already missing your beautiful country
although the sun is shining here too though not as hot!
We cant thank you enough for the professional way you arranged everything in Jordan for us. It was fantastic from beginning to end.
We felt privileged to be just on our own and not in a group, and I think we saw the sights so much at our own pace that way .
How do you sum up the favorites of such a wonderful country. Firstly the people, everyone we met with the exemption of the odd Amman taxi driver, were so friendly and welcoming with their endless cups of mint tea. Jerash was spectacular, Mount Nebo so peaceful and moving, Petra we loved and the terrace of the Petra Forum is undoubtedly the best place in during Petra tour! But, for us both, the Wadi Rum will always remain the most unforgettable place. It has a certain magic about it I think, and next time I would want to be there for longer to absorb this more. I never believed I would see such sights.
The Disi camps setting is magical, but no doubt Amer will tell you about our sleepless nights with the Mosquitoes ! But did we have fun there?
Lastly our driver, Amer. We would not have seen or done half the things
without him, especially the Turkish Bath in Petra, which I vowed I would never have before!!!!! We both have never laughed so much and loved it. He looked after us so well, and really was just like a guide. I think he enjoyed our company too, and it was sad to say goodbye yesterday
We will certainly be coming back, sooner rather than later I hope, and I really worry for your tourism as it seemed so quiet everywhere we went (which was lovely for us!) The troubles are on the front page of every newspaper here, and being next door to Israel it is certain to put tourists off, but rest assured, we will tell everyone what a wonderful country you
have.
I have a real ache in my heart this morning, and wish I was still there.
