Description

See some of the world’s most impressive sights on this private 6-days tour of Jordan, including five nights of accommodations. Ride a 4×4 through the Wadi Rum desert valley, swim in the Dead Sea, and visit Amman Roman theatre, the Citadel and the Umayyad Palace. Along the way, stop by Mt. Nebo, Kerak Castle, Madaba’s Church of St. George, and the ancient Nabataean city of Petra.

Itinerary

Day 1, Arrival Amman

Upon arrival, a member of our staff will meet you at Queen Alia International Airport. Transfer to hotel in Amman. Overnight at hotel.

Day 2, Amman City Tour/ Dead Sea

Breakfast. Departure to visit the ruins of the Amman Roman theatre, the Citadel and the Umayyad Palace.The tour includes visits to the Archaeological and Folklore Museums. Free time for walking/shopping in the old down town area of the city. Transfer to the Dead Sea, the lowest point on Earth located 395 meters below sea level.  Float in its unique salt rich waters which make it nature’s natural spa.  Free time at leisure. Overnight at hotel.

Day 2, Amman City Tour/ Dead Sea picture

Day 3, Dead Sea/ Madaba/ Mt.Nebo/ Kerak/ Petra

Breakfast. Departure south through the king’s way, an ancient route that still has marks left from traders, armies and pilgrims who crossed it centuries ago. Visit the Christian Town of Madaba “The City of Mosaics”. You will be visiting the St. George church with its mosaic map of the Holy Land from Byzantine times, and the Archaeological Park, which houses the remains of several Byzantine churches, including the amazing mosaics of the Church of the Virgin. The park complex includes a school for the restoration and conservation of ancient mosaics, and take a detour to Mount Nebo, the site of the endearing monastery. We will continue our journey to the city of Kerak, where we will visit the Crusader’s Castle, with its diverse history dated from the Byzantine to the Mamluk period, and get to know the architectural military brilliance of the Crusaders.Continue to Proceed to Petra. Overnight at hotel.

Day 4, Petra

Breakfast. We will start our journey to explore Petra, aptly described as the “rose-red city, half as old as time”. The ancient city was founded by the Nabateans 2000 years ago. Its massive architectural structure and its multicolored stones are an incredible attraction. The visit of the ancient Nabatean capital starts on horseback, followed by a walk through the Siq, a long narrow fissure between two overhanging cliffs. Towards the end of the Siq, you will be spellbound by Petra’s most famous monument; the Treasury. The tour then proceeds to gradually unfold the mysteries of the city. Overnight at hotel.

Day 5, Petra/ Wadi Rum/ Amman

Breakfast. Transfer south to the enchanting desert of Wadi Rum, Jordan’s largest desert and one of the most spectacular desert landscapes in the world. Jeep Tour inside the Wadi. Transfer back to Amman. Overnight at hotel.

  • Transfer as per above itinerary in a private modern air-conditioned large sized car with an English speaking driver (car is not at disposal after the day tour ends, your driver is not a guide).

  • Accommodation at hotels on BB basis (Bed & Breakfast).
  • Optional short horse ride in Petra. (Please note that the horse handler expects a tip if you do take the horse ride)

  • Tour inside the desert of Wadi Rum in a 4×4 vehicle for 3 hours.
